A vintage, rookie-era signature and inscription, “Best Wishes – J. DiMaggio” (black fountain pen, “9-10”) graces the blank side of this 3-1/4” x 5-1/2” government-stamped and postally used card. The cancellation (dated March 20, 1937 and originating from Saint Petersburg, Florida) illustrates that the future legend took time from his Spring Training work to respond to the autograph request of a fan in Connecticut. The card is well-circulated with spots of surface paper loss in the margins (not approaching DiMaggio’s writing) and presents an overall VG/EX appearance. DiMaggio passed away in 1999. Full LOA from PSA DNA.
