Encapsulated and assessed "Authentic" by PSA. Visual images of various emotions have long evoked poignant baseball memories. The jubilant home-plate mob scenes that awaited Bobby Thomson or Bill Mazeroski just after their respective historic blasts will forever be etched in the minds of fans everywhere—as will Carlton Fisk's anticipatory body language, willing the ball to glance of the foul pole to force a Game 7 in the 1975 Fall Classic. Remembered perhaps just as well is an entirely different emotion, that of the absolute enragement that overtook George Brett on a Sunday afternoon in 1983. Bursting from the dugout in vein-popping anger over his "pine-tar" home run that had been nullified, Brett forever painted the picture of a panic-induced protest that won't soon be erased. Offered here is a full unused ticket to the famed July 24, 1983 contest (which was to be completed on August 18 with the ruling reversed and the Royals emerging victorious, after all). Part of a season ticket package (as printed on the ticket itself), this 1-1/2" x 6" ducat bears the Yankees logo, as well as the game date and opponent in red and the seating and price details in blue. On the reverse is an ad hawking Michelob Beer, as well as fine print revealing a "Postponement Notice"—which certainly applied in this case! Apparent EX/MT condition, with sharp edges and corners.
