Official National League (Giles) ball is signed in blue ink by the following 21 members of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers: Alston (sweet spot), Robinson, Koufax, Campanella, Reese, Snider, Hodges, Hoak, Podres, Loes, Walker, Furillo, Shuba, Labine, Gilliam, Newcombe, Howell, Erskine, Kellert, Borkowski, and Roebuck. " 'World Champs'-1955-'Dodgers'" is written across the sweet spot in blue ink. Both the Campanella (1/10) and Alston (3/10) signatures are extremely light, otherwise the signatures range in grade from 6/10 to 9/10, averaging between 6/10 and 7/10. All of the official ball stamps are bold and clear. The ball is slightly toned with a few minor surface abrasions. In Very Good to Excellent condition. 1955 will forever remain a special season in the hearts of Brooklyn fans. It was during that year, on October 4th to be exact, that years of frustration and heartache were finally washed away with their World Series victory over their crosstown rivals (and chief nemesis through the years) the New York Yankees. It would be the only time in franchise history that a World Championship flag would fly over Flatbush. A very pleasing example of this most sought after Brooklyn team ball.
