In a June 22, 1933 typewritten 3-page document, Fields agrees to hire the husband of silent screen star May McAvoy to produce radio acts and programs for him, and signs the agreement seven times (one “W.C. Fields” full name and six “W.C.F.” initials). Also signed “Maurice G. Cleary” (the husband) and initialed “M.G.C.” twice. Maurice G. Cleary was a VP of United Artists and later an executive at Lockheed Aircraft, and was also the business partner of Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks before marrying actress McAvoy in 1929, two years after she starred opposite Al Jolsen in “The Jazz Singer.” The agreement is in exception NM condition, with the scripted black fountain pen signatures and initials being solid “8-9” examples. Pre-Certified by PSA DNA.
