Legendary November 2009

Mankind achieved its goal of landing on the moon in July 1969. Offered is a small piece from that historic event: a 1/8" x 1/8" section of kapton foil, a thin layer of gold-colored material that covered the Apollo 11 command module and returned the astronauts from space. Though most of the foil burned from the spacecraft upon re-entry, a small portion remained intact. This truly unique survivor is affixed to an 8-1/2" x 11" page bearing astronaut Buzz Aldrin's name and the Apollo 11 logo at the top. The second man to walk on the moon has detailed the mission, the importance of the foil, and its recovery. He has signed "Buzz Aldrin" ("8-9") in black felt tip at the close of the correspondence. Generally NM display quality. Pre-Certified by PSA DNA.
