Without a doubt, Roger Maris' single signature on a baseball creates much stir in this business, and rightfully so. Despite great success in Major League baseball, Maris was ultimately a very private man and thus did not sign a ton of baseballs as slugging counterparts like Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra have. Also, of course, Roger died at a very young age and thus was not around during the era of countless card and memorabilia shows that would have gladly paid him stacks of money to appear as a signer. This unofficial "Home Run League" ball has light toning but the coloring is mostly uniform. The side panel signature reflects about "7" quality. Auction LOA from JSA.
