Between the years 1942 and 1957, the Cardinals' Stan Musial was arguably the best hitter in the National League. Stan "The Man" batted over .300 in each season during that span, winning seven batting titles and driving in more than 100 runs on ten separate occasions. 1951 in particular witnessed one of Musial's finest overall seasons, as the three-time MVP led the league in batting (.355), runs scored (124), and triples (12) while also compiling 32 home runs and 108 RBI. Offered is a St. Louis Cardinals road jersey worn by the legendary Hall of Famer during that banner 1951 campaign. The flannel three-quarter, zip-up garment features "Cardinals" across the chest in red chenille stitching outlined in blue with two red stitched Cardinals perched on a yellow chenille stitched bat. Musial's number "6" has been sewn on the back in red-on-navy felt appliqué. The sleeve openings and button-path bear red piping accents. The left sleeve has a 75th N.L. Anniversary patch in red-white-and-baby blue. The left front tail reads "Musial - 51-1" in red chainlink stitching. A Rawlings main label appears inside the collar with attached tags noting laundry instructions and size "44." All original as issued. Moderate wear with three vintage team repairs on the back from usuage. All original as issued - rare to have the 75th N.L. Anniversary patch intact. Musial has signed the front left in black marker ("8"). A simply impeccable 1951 game jersey worn by Stan "The Man" Musial during one of the most productive seasons of his phenomenal career.
